Service announcement for the ScotlandsPeople website
« on: Saturday 17 September 16 11:32 BST (UK) »
Scotlands People will be offline from 23.59 (BST) on Wednesday 21 September until Monday 26 September. This downtime is essential as we work towards the launch of our new ScotlandsPeople website.

Customers visiting the ScotlandsPeople Centre in Edinburgh or using one of the local family history centres will be able to access records as usual on Thursday 22, Friday 23 and Monday 26 September 2016

You will be pleased to note that once the new site is launched, all of your credits and saved images from our existing site will be available

Lets hope they don't change the formatting like everything else we used for years & now find difficult to navigate.

So glad you posted this, Thank you.

xin  :)

I just wish they had a better way of going through previous searches, with my head as it is... I know I waste so many 'search' credits going over old searches ... but with 30 (and I mean it) odd pages of just one name and a lot lot more of others, I cant just put in Sutherland for the search at the bottom - if you could actually put in the details of the person you are looking for and they included that in 'Previous searches' it would save me a fortune.  but I think that may be a ploy of theres....   That said, I love Scots peoples certs - please don't let them mess up the format ... please please, I am too old for new things.  :(

Once you've paid for a search you don't have to pay again.
Just go into the tab (they're probably about to change all this!) at the top of the page marked previous searches or viewed images and they are saved there to view again for free.
