Yes, the comment about contacting Sandra on that site was mine.

I did say that once I was back home I'd likely be able to find more  ;)

thank you. Ive got plenty about the 2 Glass girls and their aviation careers. Its just I'd like to link the story to a living relative. There has also been a treasure trove of material about one of them dating back 80 years that I'd like to let current family know about. Hence my persistence to find someone alive with such an interest. Your help in that regard has been amazing !!

Not quite what you are searching for by have (with help of an online tree) found a family connection between Robert Glass & Henry Matier- they were 1st cousins!

___ Glass
1. Elizabeth Glass (1776-1831) m. Robert Matier
     1. Henry Matier (1822-1891) m. Maria L. Burrowes- family
2. Robert Glass (1789-1872) m. Martha
     1. Robert Glass (1838-1889) m. Sarah Jane Brown- family

Back to search for descendants of Robert Glass-
No clues in his obituary, although seems strange that he's buried alone in plot.
Belfast Newsletter, 15 Mar.1887: GLASS- March 14, at Ulsterville Avenue, Belfast, Robert Glass, aged 53 years. His remains will be removed for interment in the Borough Cemetery, to-morrow (Wednesday) morning at half-past nine o’clock.

Son Robert Glass was alive in 1895 (administering father's estate) but I still can't find any trace of him after that. 1895- Robert Glass of 14 Posnett-street Belfast Merchants' Assistant the Son

Son John Birch Glass-
1918 directory- Glass, J. B., tea agent, 81a Victoria Street http://www.lennonwylie.co.uk/alphanames1918FG.htm (81a Victoria St.) McCoull, William, and Glass, J. B., tea agents) 1924- same; 1932- Wm McCoull, tea agent

Thank you.  Ahhhhh..... I kinda suspected that there might have been a link. That was good detective work to link them like that !!....it made sense Robert named his son Henry with the name Matier.

That is a shame but there's still a chance she will come across this thread via a search engine like Google or even that someone else with information might make contact. Fingers crossed  ;D

I am a descendent of Robert Matier 1776-1834 and Elizabeth Glass 1776-1831 via their daughter Eliza Matier who married Alexander Kirker.  Eliza's siblings were Robert Matier m. Anna Hawthorne and Henry Matier both Linen Merchants and Daniel Matier.

I am interested in all Connections to this Matier family and I am also currently trying to find the link between Elizabeth Glass and the Glass family who emigrated to Pennsylvania, PA between 1848-1853 possible children of Samuel Glass.

I do not live in Northern Ireland but I do live in the U.K.! I shall need read all the posts!
