One was very interesting - pages and pages. A distant family dispute. The sister had married a' ne'er do well' in Ireland (according to her brothers). She had inherited a nice little estate in Galloway and had left it to her husband, who had deserted her at some time before her death.  Brothers contested and there were long arguments about who should inherit. In the end, and at about page 10, it was decided that the husband was the inheritor.

I often think that those Galloway ancestors are a Crockett novel. One of them thought that my 4 x great granny was descended from Annie Laurie. ;D
