Crisane hasn't given source of information for wife / children of Alexander (David) KERR ?

Just interested to know if this has been sourced from the "online tree" spoken of earlier ?   ;)

Lawrence was 22 at death in 1918, so that has him born in 1896.

I think the headstone says 'Infant son'.

The birth of Lawrence James KERR - s/o Alice Catherine and Alexander, was registered in 1916.

And yes ... the headstone inscription shows ...  "Also his infant son, Laurie".  [Note :  Spelling is "Laurie" not "Lawrie". ]

Thanks Jamjar. Can I have the link to the graveyard and the headstone you mention please. We have the details and the birth certs for most of the family members . The arrival of Alexander in New Zealand  and his birth  details however are still  elusive.

Thanks everyone for all your help so far. It would be good if we could find that elusive birth cert ( my Scotlandspeople site is causing no end of headaches at the moment) and  I am wondering if Alexander David came to Nz via Australia. The only other piece of information that I have on him is that he had a tattoo ( an anchor) so may have been a seaman at some time . From his reputed birth date of 1876 and his arrival date c 1901 he  was about 25/26 when he came to New Zealand .  Does anyone have access to the 1901 census for Scotland ? I'm clutching at straws here
