Does anyone know of any works, national, or regional that provide descriptive text on settlements/parishes, similar to what you would find in Kelly's Directories, e.g.

My first choice would be to check:
- GOV: http://gov.genealogy.net/search/index = German Town Locator [in German], an online database that gives the location of German towns, of former German towns, ...
- https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Hauptseite (German version) might be helpful

- westpreussen.de is the best website for West Prussia
