Hi Wendl,

Do you, by any chance, know if there are plans to index the census at some point? I know my ancestor should be there somewhere, but Canada is a big place to search when you don't know which town they may be in!

Thanks,
Sahara

Living in England I have no idea of the geography of Montreal.
Could someone point me in the right direction and suggest an area where my rellies might have lived in 1911,so I know where to start searching the census.

I have one who married in Apr 1911 at St John the Evangelist and one in Aug 1911 at St Marks Presbyterian church.

My relatives were from Scotland and had literally only just arrived in Canada. The only street name I have is Nazareth, but that wasn't till 1914-when the youngest one joined up to the army(2 years later he was dead-as were 2 of his brothers)

Many thanks for your help,

Carol

They have started doing some test transcriptions, and have had discussions on what to transcribe.  It's in some of the discussion groups on the site.  I would give them 6 months to a year and the transcription will be done...... (but that's just my guess....)

Thanks for letting us know the 1911 is online.  I have waited for this day to find my grandparents and the date of their arrival in Canada..  Found them so I am ecstatic.
