Joseph William Strickson, d1917, Royal Fusiliers
« on: Tuesday 08 November 16 20:00 GMT (UK) »
Joseph William Strickson was my grandmother's first husband; they married in 1914.
He was a sergeant in 13 Battalian Royal Fusiliers and died in action on 10 or 11 April 1917. He was buried in Monchy British Cemetery, Monchy-le-Preux, France.
His occupation before the war was as a clerk.
If Joseph had lived, my family's history would have been completely different and I, for one, wouldn't be here.
So many what ifs.
