1891 Census – Market Deeping/Towngate, Lincolnshire
« on: Sunday 24 July 05 21:44 BST (UK) »

Could some kind person tell me if Mary Jane Perkins, aged about 52 in 1891, her children:- Samuel, aged 26, Ann, aged 21, Jane, aged 18, Emma, aged 15, John D., aged 14 and Fanny, aged 13 are recorded in the 1891 census for Market Deeping or Towngate?.  This family was born in Market Deeping, but in 1901 are recorded living at Holbeck Township, Leeds.  In the 1881 census they were living at Towngate, near Market Deeping, with Mary Jane’s husband, William Perkins (born circa 1834 at Market Deeping).  In 1901 William was still living at Market Deeping, aged 67 years, a thatcher, so obviously William and Mary Jane had separated between 1881 and 1901.  I do not know if Mary Jane and her family were in Leeds or Market Deeping in 1891.
