Yes, I assumed that.  :D
When I find the actual register entry there might be witnesses, but that won't necessarily help.

I am going to search the South Hams as best I can for Catharine's baptism.  I am fairly confident I have found a 3rd illeg daughter for my transported convict!

The surname is so unusual, but can be spelled in at least 12 different ways, because only the P*L****R remain constant with all the vowels being interchangeable and the C more usually an S but the V quite often an F.  :'(

I'm guessing a search using that many wildcards wouldn't work!!  ;D ;D

Perhaps try PULSFORD as a surname variant.
Squance, Lillicrap, Dankester, Surtees, Yates

Perhaps try PULSFORD as a surname variant.

Thank you for the suggestion.
There is a baptism for a Catharine PULSFORD on 28th May 1727 at Sandford, which is Mid Devon, a little North of Crediton.
The register shows the previous baptism, 3 days earlier, was for a George Pulsford, and I hazard the fathers are likely to be close family members, both living in the village of Sandford.

There is a marriage on 8 July 1753, for a Katherine PULSFORD to Richard Isaac, (both of Ashreigney,) at Dowland.  The map suggests Dowland is approx 30k NW of Sandford.

Therefore I am guessing this is probably not the Catharine Pulciver I am seeking, but will welcome any opinions.
