Pre 1911 GRO search includes mothers maiden name
« on: Monday 28 November 16 16:15 GMT (UK) »
I've just been made aware that mothers maiden names have been added to search results for births pre 1911. Another powerful research tool.

Just to add to Jen's links you can also get the ages on deaths prior to 1867 where they were previously withheld from the GRO index  ;D

But be aware that we are finding them putting a child down as being 6 years etc when they are only 6 weeks or 6 months at death. Someone had one who was down as 21,but when she got the cert the child was actually 21 months.

Just so you're aware in the early stages of this new GRO search engine.
