Hello,
Can anyone solve an enigma for me please.

John Colobine BARNASCONI married Emma LEEK on 16/08/1863 in the Parish of Manchester (Manchester, England, Marriages and Banns 1754-1930 [Cathedral]). The 1871 England Census shows he is now known as John COLUMBINE, with wife Emma and mother-in-law, Mary LEEK (RG10/4044/145, p.17).......the name persists through 1881, 1891, 1901 and 1911, the latter enumeration showing he is a Widower.
PS: Incidentally, the 1851 Census quotes him as COLUMBINE.
Then on 16/07/1924 (Find A Grave Index, 1300s - Current) a John C. BARNASCONI is buried in the Philips Park Cemetery, Miles Platting, Manchester. Is this the 1963 gentleman who married Emma LEEK? And, if so, why did he change his name to COLUMBINE? Or, is COLOBINE that famous clerical error?
It would be marvellous if someone could provide a solution

Also, if an 1861 England Census entry could be found would be more than helpful
For the moment,
