Cause of Death?
« on: Thursday 15 December 16 13:54 GMT (UK) »
Good Afternoon

I've another 'cause of death' query taken from a Scottish death certificate. This time, it relates to a 2 year old little girl.

I can tell it relates to a *** disease of the elbow joint and some sort of abscess but can't decipher the rest.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Thank you

David

Scrofula = tb
phthisis = tb
and a "lumbar abscess" may well have been a psoas abscess = Pott's disease = (you guessed it) tb.

Poor little mite was obviously riddled with the infection.

Thank you everyone for your comments / answers... your help is very much appreciated.

Yes, poor little thing, she was one of several children from the same family who died of tb.

Kind Regards and Happy Christmas
