Rees Llewellyn baptism
« on: Thursday 15 December 16 14:33 GMT (UK) »
Hello, I am trying to find a baptism record for a Rees Llewellyn from date 13th of August 1769. I have come across a transcribed entry on Ancestry.co.uk however there is no scan of the original document. Where would I find this? The transcribed information is as follows:

Name: Rees Llewellyn
Gender: Male
Baptism Date: 13 Aug 1769
Baptism Place: Llanddeusant, Carmarthen, Wales
Father: Lewelin Wm.
FHL Film Number: 105160

I assume baptism records like this would be held in council offices or would they be held by the Welsh Archives perhaps?

If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be very welcome.

Thank you

Tom

Welcome to rootschat  :) :)

The website genuki suggests the parish registers before 1810 approx. have been partially destroyed by fire, only bishops transcripts are available for the 1700s. These are held in the national library of wales, but may not contain any more information than you already have.

Carmarthenshire experts will know more than me.  :)
