Trying to find William H Hillman in census records

I'm researching a family tree for a friend and have hit a brick wall with her great grandfather William H Hillman. I know that he lived in Barry South Wales from 1901 onwards but can't seem to find him anywhere before that. The 1901 census says that he was born in 1873 but the 1911 census gives his date of birth as 1882. Both records give his place of birth as Hull Yorkshire but I can't seem to find him there. I did however find another William H Hillman who lived in Hull on the 1891 census who seems like a possible candidate for his father. He was born in Bristol in 1839 and seems to be married to an Elizabeth. I did also find him on the 1871 census living with Elizabeth in London but as that was on ancestry I could not look at the record. I tried to find the record on find my past but had no luck. I haven't had luck on any of the other censuses so if anyone could help me that would be really great.

Hi I think you will find his age in 1911 is 39?

Also did he marry an Elizabeth A Cox, if so they appear not to have married until Dec qtr 1912 Cardiff 11a 781

A son William Hugh Hillman June qtr 1899 Cardiff 11a 440 Mothers maiden name Cox

Those ages on the 1911 census have to be wrong surely? It says they have been married 15 years which would mean William was 14 and his wife 12.
The birth of William Hugh jnr in 1899 has mmn Cox which tallies with the marriage in Cardiff reg district December 1/4 1912

This is getting weird or I am losing the plot
The only birth reg I can see for an Emily May is this one
