My Grt Grandfather, Frederick DONLAN and his step-Brother George HOPKINS

Afternoon all, I've spent a vast amount of time trying to track down my Grt Grandfather, Frederick DONLAN & his family.
I've got his army record (served Royal Artillery 42797) and on his papers he is shown as born in Middlesex and he has listed his NoK as his step-Brother, George HOPKINS residing at 2 Clarence Terrace, Teddington.
In 1903 he married my Grt Grandmother, Frances Mina Beatrice THURSTON in India, his Father is noted as Alfred DONLAN.
Ive found HOPKINS on 1800's census living in Teddington but cant positively link him to Frederick.
Can anyone help.....please! I'm at a loss as what to do next.  Thank you in advance

Sorry.. should've put that.  Based on his army papers around 1867. He was listed as 35 on his marriage cert in 1903

They are certainly hiding well.   The army record shows Clarence Terrace as being in Fulwell Road.

UPDATE:  I have found George Hopkins in the Teddington electoral roll for 1892. Residing at
3 Clarence Terrace, Fulwell Road.  His full name is George Alfred Benwell HOPKINS.
I believe that he was born in 1854 in St Pancras, Middx.

Can any one find my Grt Grandfather (Frederick DONLAN) or any connection between the 2 men.  I have exhausted my ideas.

1891 census only has one occupant for 3 Clarence Terrace, a James Lowe age 37

In 1861 Alfred is living with his parents James and Jane in Bloomsbury, he is a widower.  Born 1833, Stationer, father James a Currier, all matches the marriage cert.

In 1871 he is living in Kensington with wife Lucy, son Ernest 14 and Frederick aged 5.  Alfred married Lucy HENDERSON (his parents' housemaid in 1861) in 1865.
