In 1861 they are in Dumfries with sons James & John but also a 9mth old daughter Mary E b Gretna.  As she does not appear on the 1871 she may have died between censuses

Interestingly - they have a boarder James Jardine aged 24 b Hoddom?? Dumfries

Did you get her Carlisle birthplace from the 1911 entry?

Would still recommend downloading a copy of the 1890 marriage cert just to be absolutely certain of her parentage

I got her being born Carlisle from my mother in law. It’s her grandmother.
