« on: Wednesday 04 January 17 07:51 GMT (UK) »
Just learnt there's an 1811 census for Metfield that has some small details. If anyone has a copy, could you please check for James Saunders with his family and Walter Poppy with his family.

Thank you.

Quoting from a website (www.1911census.org.uk):

Basic facts about the 1811 census

Taken on 27th May 1811.

Details recorded for each parish, township, or place were:

Number of inhabited houses, occupied by how many families
    Number of houses being built
    Number of uninhabited houses
How many persons, how many male, how many female
How many households are chiefly employed in agriculture; how many in trade, manufactures, or handicraft; and how many in neither

Details of individuals and their names were not recorded in the official Census returns.

ninkynoo has offered surname lookups for Metfield in the past but hasn't been active in many years

I have a copy of the Metfield 1811 census. It is not as detailed as other census but lists the head of the household ,occupation and how many males and females in the house.

If you have ancestors at Metfield at about this time ,I am happy to pass on details.  Please start a new topic on the Suffolk LOOKUP REQUESTS board.
