In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

Hi all, as 1911 lookups are not allowed, just wondering if the Ellen Bottrill I can see in Coventry on the index, indicates how many children were born/living/died to accommodate the "Mrs Taylor"

Thomas 1911 Q1 Coventry 6d 544 MMN Jarram

Ella [Nellie] may be from this marriage
Marriages Jun 1901

Bottrill    Tom        Nuneaton    6d   858

Hough    Joseph Schofield        Nuneaton    6d   858
HUTT    Mary Ann        Nuneaton    6d   858

Can't find any Bottrill/Taylor or Rodgers/Taylor or Broom/Taylor marriages in Oakham or Coventry. Suppose Mr Taylor could have been a 2nd marriage for the sister?

Hope I am thinking straight here  ::) but I am looking for Broom or Rodgers or Bottrill female births with MMN Baker or Baker/Baker births as Ellen was 26 with no children in 1881 & 36 in 1891 & may have had a daughter before marriage who was living elsewhere when Ellen married John Broom. GRO website a bit slow at the mo.

But may not John William Baker have been a son of Ellen's sister ['nephew' in 1891] and taken in by John Broom?

OK thanks for setting me right  ;).

Not sure if it's any help but I found [Ann] Ellen's baptism to single woman Martha on 6 Jan 1856 from Oakham Union Workhouse.  Cannot find her on 1861 but 1871 RG10/3300/42/18 may be with widowed grandmother Mary aged 71 living on parish, Ellen aged 15  & fellow grandchild William aged 3 all born Oakham.

ADDED 1861 RG 9; Piece: 2306; Folio: 84; Page: 9
John Baker   65
Mary Baker   64
Hannah Baker   23 daughter
Ellen Baker   21 daughter
Ellen Baker   5 g'daughter
John Baker   18 son
