Milford Haven - Amy BROWNE
« on: Thursday 05 January 17 16:36 GMT (UK) »
Was hoping someone would be able to help me find some information on what would be my 2nd great-grandmother Amy Browne.  For the longest time I only knew she was born in Wales, but finally found information on a U.S./Canada border crossing form that her place of birth was Milford Haven, Wales.  Her birth year seems to vary from census to census; from 1867-1869.  The only parent I have information on is her father from her marriage certificate.  His name is Charles Eugene Frances Browne. I can't seem to find any information on her before her marriage to David Neil McMillan on Jan 13, 1890 in Londonderry, Northern Ireland.  Any information or direction would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Sarah

Cant see a birth for an Amy

Might she have been Emily k/a Amy?

Emily Jane 2 bn Milford
Rosa Scot 7mths bn Milford
Ann Polhill 57 mother in law widow

Is the marriage date a typo,  if it should be 1880 she surely cannot have been born 1869.

Yes, sorry it is suppose to be 1890.  I corrected it in my original message.  Thanks for pointing that out ;)

Just an update for anyone coming across this thread. Found "Amy" as Amelia Bridget Brown b. ~1860 in Hakin, Milford. Mother is Corbetta E. Mathias and Charles was never listed because he was a Seaman and not listed on any census with Corbetta. Corbetta is listed living at Sloop Inn on Point Street as the Innkeeper while her husband was at sea.

A tangled family dispute here - starts about halfway down under the subheading A FAMILY QUARREL

Charles seems to claim to be prussian, as I read it
