Possibly neither. It really depends on what you are looking for and there are quite a few free sites offering the same information as subscription sites for Irish records.

You should be able to check exactly what databases each site has online to compare but it you could give us an idea of period, location (if known), religion and sort of details you are looking for we might be able to give more precise advice.

The area is around Baltiglass. The dates from abt 1920 backwards. I think a lot of the family ended up in the work house at one time or another

I have only ever taken out one, one day subscription. One to Rootsireland, who have some unique material.
Other than that, there is a lot for free material on the NLI, NAI, Irishgenealogy, and Familysearch sites. Moreover, not that many people seem to have heard of Ancestrylibrary - that is how I access Ancestry, for free.

All free-

Civil registrations (births, marriages, deaths)-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp

1901 and 1911 census-
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/

If Catholic-
http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0691

Family Search have lots of Irish records-
https://familysearch.org/search/collection/location/1927084?region=Ireland

Many other links to resources listed in Resource sections of each Irish board (you may need to search in both Wicklow and Kildare depending on exact location at any particular time) and IRELAND RESOURCES board.

Your local library may subscribe to Ancestry (the Library edition mentioned above) or other sites- most libraries now have a webpage so check before going in person.

HI
Which is the best sub to get  for searching in Ireland. Anc or FindMyPast?

I have only ever taken out one, one day subscription. One to Rootsireland, who have some unique material.
Other than that, there is a lot for free material on the NLI, NAI, Irishgenealogy, and Familysearch sites. Moreover, not that many people seem to have heard of Ancestrylibrary - that is how I access Ancestry, for free.

NAI ? Never heard of that one - do you have a link ?
Ancestrylibrary? Ah! Access to Ancestry records for free from any library that has an account. From the help on the login page - "Ancestry Library Edition is a new genealogy research tool that provides library patrons instant access to a wide range of resources for genealogical and historical research. Ancestry Library Edition includes records from the U. S. Census; military records; court, land and probate records; vital and church records; directories; petitions for naturalization; passenger lists and more!
Ancestry Library Edition is not for home use. To access this database, please ask for more information at your local library."
Most roots researched back to the early/mid 1800s. Years noted as 'pre' refer to my direct ancestors, although I'm interested in any relatives:
Mitchelstown, Co.Cork: CORBETT (pre1935), SWEENEY  (pre1935), CUSACK? (pre1894), KEYS? (pre1894)
Mallow, Co.Cork: BROWNE (1895-1935)
Caher, Co.Tipp: BROWNE (pre1895), PURTELL(pre1895)
Cashel, Co.Tipp: FANNING (pre1886)
Llanelly, Carms: GRIFFITHS (pre1934), REYNOLDS (pre1901), WILLIAMS (pre1934)
Ton Pentre, Glams: LEWIS (pre1901)
