Ontario Marriage Registration - William & Florence McVeigh
« on: Thursday 12 January 17 14:56 GMT (UK) »
I've looked through all the on-line resources I have access to and cannot find a record of William McVeigh and Florence Armstrong.  Marriage was likely around 1930 in Toronto.  They were both born in Ireland (likely Northern Ireland) around 1901.  Need some assistance.  Thx!

They had three children.  W., May (Gorin) and Irene (Hackett).

My hope is to find out their parents names so I can find birth in Ireland.

Rich

Hi,

There are no marriage records on line for the time frame you are searching.  Canada does not have a BMD index and has quite strict privacy laws.

Are the children deceased now, unfortunately we cannot name living people as per the rules of the site.

The 1930 marriages are currently only available on microfilm from the Ontario Archives but should make their way to Ancestry hopefully in the not-too-distant future.

Sandra.  Are initials okay for those who are not deceased?  I corrected my error for the one individual by specifying first initial.

The Ontario Archives microfilm is something I will then need to access.  Has anyone accessed these before?  Is it time consuming to find if you are not 100% sure of exact year?  From an online search it looks like I can access these from the Archives by York University.

Thank you!
Rich

There is a yearly index so you check those first and get the registration number and then go to the microfilm that has that registration number, so relatively easy to check yearly indexes quickly.
