Tracing birth of a British Subject in France
« on: Saturday 14 January 17 13:19 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I am looking for the birth of Eliza Carter, daughter of Thomas Carter, who, according to the 1891 census at Crewe, Cheshire, was 48 years old and was born in France, Rouen.

Does anyone have any suggestions for locating the birth please?

Thanks.
George

You could try British embassies birth, marriage and death registers. I'll have a look when I go to the library in a bit

Did she have sisters born about 1849 (twins) and their Mother was Eliza?

I have looked at the record now and saved a copy if you want it. It doesn't give date or place of birth but does give where they were living at time of baptism.

Hello everybody,

Thank you all for your advice and comments, all very much appreciated.

Mvann, yes I would be pleased to receive a copy of the information, thank you.

Maggsie, sorry, I do not know if she had twin sisters or her mother's name.

Kind regards,
George
