Hi there,

Have a look at the following site and search on the I.G.I.:

www.familysearch.org

This shows three entries for Grace Law,one of which is her marriage to Wlliam Hall which took place in 1812 at Brafferton.

I've also had a look for Wm Hall but, owing to lack of information as to place/approximate date of birth etc, there are too many responses to identify him.

The following sites may also be of use to you.The first contains brief details of a marriage bet a William Hall and an Elizabeth Blenkthorn in 1830 at Thirkleby---possibly some relationship there?.

The parish registers will be of help to you.The LDS site(familysearch) is always worth searching.

Best of luck in your research  :) :) :)

Thanks Llwyd,

I think the 1812 marriage is the one I am looking for, unfortunatly it doesn't give any more information. I think I have also found all of their children and at least two of them were born before the marriage.

I have traced most of them to present day.  Edward my gggrandfather had a grocers shop in Hartlepool.  Lucinda was a school teacher in Hartlepool and never married. Grace Law when widowed went to live with Lucinda.  William was a timber merchant in both Hartlepool and Stockton.  Anns married name was Watkins she also lived in Stockton.

There are two Braffertons. I think the one the Halls came from is in Durham near Aycliffe, where some of the children were born.

Still I cannot go any further back. I can't find the Laws and all I really know of William and Grace is that they were born in the late 1700s and were farmers.
