Rochdale Cemetery
« on: Wednesday 01 February 17 14:15 GMT (UK) »
I have recently moved house from Rochdale to Widnes and am looking for somebody who can possibly look for a headstone in Rochdale Cemetery.    For me to go myself it means a bus to the railway station, train to Manchester Piccadilly, tram to Rochdale centre (one hour from Manchester to Rochdale and then a bus up Bury Road to the Cemetery.    The trains back are one an hour and if you miss the one on the hour the others go past Widnes and on to Liverpool Lime Street.   I am looking for a grave for a James Taylor and his wife Clara.     The grave number is 33855 and it is in plot 24 Square 24.   James died 3 September 1928 so there is a small possibility the headstone is still there as it is listed on the website Interment.net for Rochdale cemetery - there is James, Clara and Clara junior.   Thanks Michele

There is a Headstone at Rochdale Cemetery.  Dave Ollerton recorded the Headstones.  His record for “your” James Taylor is, “Taylor, James, d. 3 Sep 1928, age: 56yr, h/of Clara”.
