My apologises - Just realised I posted this request back in 2013 here;
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=636384.0 I wonder if someone can help with a bapt. for Mary Ponting (+ variants) about 1781.
Using the 1851 census reveals she was born in "even Swindon" and was aged 73 a wid. This gives a possible year of birth as 1778, if her age was correct.
However, I can say she married Robert Hayward 10-4-1798 as a "minor" by Licence and with consent of her father James Ponting, in Castle Eaton. The transcripts also say she was sojourning in Stratton St.Margaret at the time of her marriage.
