Kent marriage licence c1737/8

Hi Everyone,
I am looking for the details on a marriage licence issued around 1737/8 in Kent. The couple involved were Edward Simmons and Sarah Newman who were married by licence in Patrixbourne 8/8/1738. The parish record transcripts do not show where either of them came from, but I do know that Edward came from the Staplehurst area and was christened 13/3/1717...so was "of age". So it is Sarah's details that I am interested in and if anyone can help me to track her down it would be appreciated.

Findmypast has a transcription of a Sarah Newman 11 Jan 1713 Staplehurst daughter of James and Elizabeth.
A good possibility.

The marriage licence says they were both of Staplehurst.

According to Cowper,

Both Edward Simmons and Sarah Newman were of the Parish of Staplehurst.  He was a bachelor and she was a maiden.  The marriage to take place at Staplehurst, Cranbrook or Patrixbourne.  The Licence was dated 8 August 1738.  The ages of the two parties could be entered on the Allegation and Bond sworn to obtain the Licence; these held at Canterbury Cathedral Archives.  Edward Simmons' occupation should also be on these documents.
