Thanks Trish, I had found those baptisms but the maiden name wasn't listed where I found them. So that confirms the Skingley name. I had found that birth record of James How but I was hoping to confirm it was the right James by finding his fathers name on his marriage certificate or something.

nannyj, thanks for your help. On the census it lists the address as South Weald, Brentwood. So I assume South Weald is a part of Brentwood. As Trish found the mothers maiden name listed on some of the children's baptism records I think we can be sure SKINGLEY is the right name.

Thanks Sue, that could be the right Mary.

Now I just need to track down the marriage record.

There's james and Mary Ann how having a child in Brentwood in 1813 too? He is a grocer, which matches the census occupation. It was Caroline 14 march 1813. When they have Jane and William baptised 15 sept 1816, he is a shopkeeper. This would make james and Mary Ann's births more like 1790?

Thanks nannyj, this would be before they got married but as I'm leaning towards James parents being James and Mary as well I'm wondering if those names you found are actually James siblings. Otherwise he and his wife were having children before they were married and very young. Its possible his parens were still having children when he started having children.

Yes and maybe they moved from fyfield to Brentwood and that's why your james was there? I will look for deaths to see.
