Gaps in my Genealogy
« on: Sunday 26 February 17 21:27 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone,

I have some gaps in my genealogy.

I want to know who was the father of my Great grandmother Louisa Emily Mills * 1902 in Bracknell , Berkshire. Her mother is Ellen Eliza Mills * 1877 in Bracknell , Berkshire.

Her Grandmother Elizabeth Peacock *31.8.1851 in Warfield, Berkshire was born to ? Peacock and Eliza Taylor . The father of her father was John Peacock *1797 in Shinfield , Berkshire and i want to know who was the spouse of John Peacock and what name had the father of Elizabeth Peacock *1851 . Her uncels are William Peacock *1833 in Warfield and James *1838 in Warfield.  I also want to know when her mother was born and where . I think she was born in year 1830 . Her father is Henry Taylor *1803 where ? Wife? Her brother was Charles Taylor *1828 . I think they were also from Warfield, Berkshire. The occupations of them would be interesting too. Were they maybe gypsies?  Because Taylor is a very common surname by the Gypsies.

Then my G-G-G-G grandmother was Letitia Goddard *1827 in East Ilsley or West Ilsley, Berkshire.  I don't know her parents or Grandparents names . And what were their occupations?  Maybe Gypsies?  I only want to know it because in Great Britain lived or live a lot Gypsies.

Then Edward Smith *1797 in Balcombe, Sussex . I don't know his parents . And want to know if this family has Romany links. Because I like the history of the Romany people in england . His wife Elizabeth Fuller *1802 where? Parents ?

My G-G-G-G-Great Grandfather John Cooper *1833 or 36 in Blacton (Heston ) Middlesex to William Cooper and Ann Shortland  (Shortiland) his parents married 20.9.1833 in St,Mary , Hanwell.  Where are they from? And parents ?

I hope some of you can help me ,because the family is very interesting and i want to know more about them.

Best regards

Jane

The new GRO Index Search shows mother's maiden names.

Louisa's birth registration is as follows:
MILLS, LOUISA  EMILY      -
GRO Reference: 1902  J Quarter in EASTHAMPSTEAD  Volume 02C  Page 407

That is, there is no entry for Mother's Maiden Name - usually a very good indication of an illegitimate birth.

So your best (only?) chance of seeing who the father is is a baptism record? Some vicars/rectors named the fathers
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Hi again,

I forgot some ancestors.

My G-G-G-G great grandparents Elizabeth Rhoda Burchell *1838 in Bristol, Gloucestershire and George Langbridge *1839 in Stepney married on the 4th of May 1857 in St Thomas, Stepney. The Father of Elizabeth Rhoda is George Burchell a M.S Soldier , mother unknown.  The parents of George Langbridge are Joseph Langbridge and Elizabeth North . His parents married on the 1st of July 1833 in Saint Leonards, Shoreditch, London.  I want to know more  about George Burchell and his unknown Wife. Also about Elizabeth North for example birth date, place , and the names of her parents.

Finally,

My G-G-G-G grandmother Emma Whitsey . I think she was from Lambeth because she married my 4x Greatgrandfather Walter Thomas Smith   there. who was born 1839 in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. Has someone more Information about Emma Whitsey? Birth date , place and parents +occupations.

It's usually best to keep replies attached to the original post? ;D
