Hello There,
The above person was one of my 7x Great Grandad's. He was born around the year mentioned in the title. He was buried in Scothern on the 25th of September 1769. I have found on "Lincs To The Past", that there was a Coroner's inquest into his death:" William Watson, Married man, aged around 68, of Scothern, took poison, being of unsound mind."
The only baptism that I can find for a William Watson, around the years close to when he would have been born, is on Family Search: There is a William Watson, baptised at Winteringham, on the 3rd of July 1700. The trouble is that Winteringham is rather a long way from Scothern.

I knew that my 6x Great Grandad's name was John Watson. So I looked on Family Search, and found that there was a John Watson, baptised in Sudbrooke, on the 7th of July 1734. Sudbrooke is right next to Scothern. His Father's name was down as William, and his Mother was down as Mary, according to Family Search. My John Watson was buried in Scothern, on the 23rd of January, 1798.
William and Mary previously had a Daughter called Alice, born in Sudbrooke, in 1731.
Then in Scothern they had these children:
Eleanor Watson - Baptised 17.06.1739.
Thomas Watson - Baptised 18.10.1742.
The trouble is, that I cannot find a record for a William Watson marrying a Mary in the area of Scothern. Also Winteringham, where I have found a possible baptism for William, is a long way from Sudbrooke, and Scothern.
Very sorry for the long winded intro, but if any one has any information at all, this would be gratefully accepted.

Thank you very much.
