Little help transcribing trades
« on: Wednesday 29 March 17 05:56 BST (UK) »
Hi could anyone offer some ideas on the trades of the two people on the wedding document.

I keep think Issac Robinson looks like Barlier but I'm not sure there is such a thing. I had assumed it to be Baker but maybe too many letters.

James McAdam's is a little more tricky. Again every time I look at it I see Peursuing or something like that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you're right, Isaac is a Barber. That didn't even occur to me. I'm not sure what a Prusiner is either  ;D

Often when I'm trying to decipher occupations or trades I use this website http://www.worldthroughthelens.com/family-history/old-occupations.php and then try to find something like resembles what's written. In the case I'm at a loss.

A pensioner, now that did not occur to me either. I know the age of his daughter who is getting married is no spring chicken but I didn't suspect she was that old, nor her father. However, I think you have given me something to chew on and may put me on the right track with other research. Truly much appreciated so thank you very much  ;D
