Hi everyone,
I'm quite stuck on finding birth/marriage/death for my relative Alexander Stephen ( my great greatgrandfather. I have used a lot of my credits on scotlands people and wondered if anyone can help.

He was married to a Ann Morison/Morrison in abt 1852 in aberdeen ? kennethmount, I found a parish register but it didn't have much info on it regarding age or who  both parents are.
I got his name and Annes from the marriage certificate of his son. His son is called Alexander Stephen born 1853-1939 who was a wholesale druggist and married to Elizabeth Ray Masson.
some adresses I found on the cert 22 1/2 view terrace aberdeen and 20 Braemar place

Alexander senior died 25/11/1857 Kinnethmont, informant James Stephen brother.   He is described as married (no wife's name shown) - a Merchant - aged 56, son of Samuel Stephen, crofter and Margaret Mitchell (both deceased).

It would appear that Alexander was a widower when he married Ann Morrison - he was first married to an Elizabeth Esslemont 20/1/1820 Insch, Aberdeenshire and at least 4 children born there (although census states they were born Kinnethmont) i.e. John 1821, Charles 1826, Alexander 1828 and James 1831 plus a daughter Eliza ca.1844.   

In 1851 at Old Town, Kinnethmont he is with Alex 20 (not too hot on ages here since he was born 1826) and one can only assume this son died between 1851 and 1853 when another son Alexander born with new wife Ann shown as widowed by 1861.   

Familysearch shows birth for Alexander 3/3/1800 Kinnethmont, son of Samuel.   Samuel Stephen married Margaret Mitchell 30/9/1799 Kinnethmont.

Apologies for the delayed reply I didn't realise I had any replies as I recieved no notification.

You are amazing for finding this information and I'm very grateful for your help.

I would love to learn how you found the information and where so I can use the process for other searches and add the information to my tree. I have a subsription to ancestry and can access other geneology sites at the local library.

Also is crofter a trade/proffession?

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
