i am researching my great uncle jack matthews born nottingham in the 1920's he was in the navy and married and settled in austraiia,

So quite possible this person could still be living. Who were his parents ? When did he marry ? When might he have moved to Australia ?   We cannot name living people on the site - RootsChat has a no living person policy as in the guidelines for posting.

We could help you if you posted his registered birth name.  There is no birth for a 'Jack' MATTHEWS in the 1920's Nottingham.  He could possibly be a John or James. His mother's maiden name would help identify his birth registration
