Lost Grandad
« on: Thursday 28 July 05 21:28 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I volunteered to help a friend to try to find her father's father, her own daughter had drawn a blank on an earlier search but had no idea how to go about it and I wondered if anyone could help?
Patrick Withers was born  in March 1915/16 to Susan, who later? married Enoch John Probert and gave birth to a daughter Elizabeth some 6 years later.  They lived in Liverpool but we have no knowledge of where Patrick was born nor the name of his father. Anyone out there have any access to any further information?
Thanks,

 Sue

Hi,
Could this be his death?? Patrick Withers died oct 1999 Mersyside.  Born  10 Mar 1915???  Maybe getting his death cert could give you some more clues.

All the best Angela.

Hi,

If you could purchase the marriage cert that should give you an address of where they were before marriage. The fact his mother married in Liverpool and if the death entry for Patrick is correct then it stands to reason he was born in Liverpool.

If the death entry is right I would send off for his birth cert.

the only way you are going to get any further back is to buy some certs I'm afraid. I know they don't come cheap but at least they give you the facts and stop all the if, buts and maybes.

All the best.

Angela
