We are visiting the IoW records Office in May.  Does anyone want something checked/looked up  while we are there.
New to this - first attempt said "Registry". Oops! ( not getting married or giving birth at the moment. Sorry for any confusion )

Hi rosie

Are you going to the Register Office for something specific?

Most register offices these days only allow you in by appointment to register a birth, death or enquire about a marriage as they are so busy.

I may be wrong BUT do you really mean that your are visiting the RECORDS office rather than the Register Office  :-\

And, welcome to Rootschat  ;)
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Presuming you mean the IoW RECORD Office, make sure to visit their website and read the FAQs before you go, that way you will be well prepared and avoid disappointments. :)
