John Smith and Elizabeth McQueen

Looking for parents of Elizabeth McQueen born about 1827 Lochrutton and parents of her husband John Smith born about 1812 Holywood Dumfriesshire . They married in 1852

Suspect your best bet might be to obtain their death certs.which will hopefully have parents names recorded.

Doing a free search on Scotland's People for Elizabeth Smith,other surname McQueen there is a possible death in Dumfries in 1884 (age 58). Cannot thus far see an obvious death for John. (I have only located them in the 1881 census - have you found them in previous censuses as there might be clues there?).

Hi William.....have found Elizabeth n 1851 with father James but no mother and Can only find John when he is married

There is an Elisabeth McQueen age 12 with possible parents James and Agness in Glencairn Dumfries-shire 1841.

No....on the death certificate mother is Mary Copland
