Hi all,
Whilst I am having a lot of success in tracing family in England, I am really struggling with my Irish ancestors. Would appreciate any help you guys might have to offer. In particular I am looking for information of my great great grandparents, Patrick Morrin and Mary Walsh.
After struggling to trace my great-grandfather Patrick Morrin, Ancestry's DNA service put me in touch with a 2nd cousin (once removed) who was able to provide information I lacked.
So my great grandfather was Patrick Morrin, born in Gortnaclossough, Clonbur, Galway in 1878.
His father was another Patrick Morrin and his mother Mary Walsh.
Patric and Mary had the following children:
Mary Morrin
1865– Bridget Morrin
1867– Margaret Morrin
1869– Michael Morrin
1869 Catherine Morrin
1874– Marie Morrin
1878– Patrick Morrin
1878– Julia Morrin
1883– Ellen Morrin
1884– Elizabeth Morrin
A number of the daughters moved to Pennsylvania and my great-grandfather moved to England. However, their parents stayed in Clonbur and are on the 1901 and 1911 census.
1901 shows:
Patrick Moran 55
Mary Moran 55
Michael Moran 30
Ellie Moran 17
Lizzie Moran 15
1911 shows:
Patrick Morrin 72
Mary Morrin 71
Micheal Morrin 38
Lizzie Morrin 21
Tom Walsh 18 (Tom was Mary's nephew)
Suggestions and tips would be greatly appreciated.
