Previously unknown family member
« on: Sunday 25 June 17 23:27 BST (UK) »
I have recently discovered an aunt who was never mentioned by my late mother or her siblings. She was the first child , born OCT/NOV/DEC 1917 Wavertree Liverpool, died JAN/FEB/Mar 1918 Birkenhead. Name: Euphemia Anderson Kelly. Is there a quicker way of finding exact dates of birth and death without sending for certificates?

Put simply - no.  If you want exact dates that is the only way

EDIT

If she was baptised and you know which church - her date of birth may be on the baptismal record

if very lucky you might find  a baptism/burial in parish records.

Otherwise no.

There's a Euphemia Annie Kelly who was buried in Birkenhead Cemetery (Flaybrick) on 9 March 1918 aged 3 months. Address: 3 Vernon Place Birkenhead. Public grave in CE section 7 grave number 447. Second entry from the top in this image, download it just in case access to these records changes in the future:-

Your mother & siblings may never have been told about this sister. Their parents may have found it too up setting or perhaps thought they would not want/need to know.  Attitudes were different then.

Thanks for your help everyone, after a break for a few years I seem to be 'hooked' again in searching.Apart from the official census records, is there any way of finding residents names between census dates or after 1911. In particular who was residing at 3 vernon place birkenhead when euphemia a kelly died and was buried 9th march 1918 age 3 months

Presumably her parents were living there?  A copy of her death cert will show who reported the death and their address.

You could check with the records office whether they have that info but 1918 was just at the end of WW1 so info may be sparse.

You also need to remember that people moved around much more frequently in those days so may not have been at the same address when the electoral register was compiled
