Scottish Monumental Inscriptions

Hi all just wanted opinions on Scottish Monumental Inscriptions is it worth it? I have a hint from findmypast of a death entry on Scottish Monumental Inscriptions however when i search that year and person on SP i cant find the record so considering buying the cemetery inscriptions but wondered how well it works

Never used it - for MI's best to contact the Scottish Family History Society or the Family History Societies for  individual areas  Borders FHS, West Lothian FHS, etc

MI's records are usual published by the FHS' and complied by volunteers

the FHS' usually have research facilities

each areas resource can vary - dependent on what info you require

Remember not all burials have a stone - can be best to check the local authority lair/burial records
