Help with 1893 Dunedin death please.

I have somehow ended up with an entry in my tree but I'm not sure how it got there.

It is the death of Ellen Roxborough (nee McLelland) in Dunedin, 29 Nov 1893, aged approx 38Y.
I cant find any proof of this death with either surname in NZBDM or Dunedin Cemetery search.

She was not married to Roxborough when she died, so may have had remarried.

Is there any way of searching Dunedin deaths by date without a surname?

How about Ellen ROXBURGH (not Ellen Roxborough) died on 1 Dec 1883 (not 29 Nov 1893) aged 29 (not 38)

Born in Ireland. Migrated c.1875

For what it's worth, BDM NZ lists the baby sharing the grave as ROXBOROUGH (1898/4410), not ROXBURGH as per the cemetery website.

I think you could be onto something there.
Everything but the First name doesn't match, but its all so close.
Alternative spellings seem to be my nemesis.

I see there is another bod in the plot. A 1 year old boy, Ernest Robert ROXBURGH d, 1898. NZBDM has his name as Ernest Robert Hamilton ROXBOROUGH. Ellen was married to Robert Hamilton ROXBOROUGH.

The baby must be from the second wife.

I'm fairly sure this is her.

Ellen Roxborough (née McLelland) is my great great grandmother. I think the Roxburgh is just because she was buried in Dunedin and being the Scottish way of spelling it. Ellen was 29 when she died and pregnant at the time. I wondered if Ernest was her daughter Rachel’s - who is my great grandmother.
