Mary Hipkin and John Pleasants

Hi All
I am searching for the Parents of Mary Hipkin who was born around 1808 in the Sculthorpe area of Norfolk.
The problem is that there are Two Mary Hipkins recorded for the same year in the same area.
I am therefore not sure if her parents are

James and Ann Pilch or
John and Maria Withers

John and Mary married in 1832 at Sculthorpe

Any help will be greatly needed

Look for the demise/ marriage of the other mary hipkin.

If she wed, compare naming patterns of any offspring.
See if either married Mary had in laws/ birth family living with her/ very nearby.

On some Census Mary Pleasants is born Fakenham.


The Mary Hipkin 1808 Syderstone (Parents James/Ann nee Pitch) may have married there 18 Feb 1828 to James GRAVER
A Benjamin Hipkin was a Witness.

So look like Richard is living with his Brother in Law James Graves.


The Fakenham one to John/Maria looks likely to me.
But as PaulineJ said try looking for Siblings of Mary to see if there is a naming pattern to her Hipkin Family and Children with John Pleasants.
(although this rule is not always followed!)

Living next door is her Son Daniel** and Family.

Daniel is working away from Home in 1841 Census (easy to find)

Thanks Pauline and Trish for your replies. I agree with you that the Fakenham Mary seems to be the best bet. With John and Maria being her Parents.
I will take your advice and see what I can discover about her siblings.

I've given you Mary Hipkins Siblings. So I hope Her and John named Children with some  those names

But as Mary Pleasants says she is born Fakenham in some Census I think it is correct for her with Parents John/Maria
