Alice Barrow death needed
« on: Wednesday 28 June 17 17:54 BST (UK) »
Hi again.

I have Alice Lomax, bapt 2 April 1778 in Bolton, marrying William Walch on 18 Sept 1799 in Bolton.

William is buried on 24 April 1800 and Alice marries Joseph Barrow on 17 Dec 1802 in Bolton.

Joseph is buried 16 Feb 1837 but no sign of Alice in 1841/51 censuses.

Non of the children have her living with them.

Looking for Alice's date of death/burial.

Thank you very much.

Phil

Have you checked www.lan-opc.org.uk

Could she have re-married after 1837?

Ideally, she should be registered as Barrow, but have you check under Lomax and Walch just in case?

That possibility presents many problems!!!! Let's hope not.

There is an Alice Lomax burial in Little Lever 10 May 1829. This ties up, age wise, but I hope it isn't!!

Just found this old post

Alice Lomax had a child William Walch born and baptised 1880 after the death of her husband
Don't know what became of him.

I found Alice Barrow widow in 1851 with granddaughter Elizabeth Turton in little Woolton

Tracing back there is an Ellen Barrow B 1807 who married William Turton

Could this be the same Alice ?

Hi. Thank you for this.

I have found a William Walch born Bolton, buried 8 August 1816 at Bolton-le-Moors.

Could be.

Don't think Ellen was a daughter of Joseph and Alice. I have ten children but no Ellen.

Alice may have died pre-1841 census.
