Hoping someone has access to Hailsham Parish registers for the marriage of Harry WATERS & Mary COLBRAN that was registered in the 1st q 1882 and is willing to look them up please.

Harry was baptised 1851 Hailsham son of Stephen WATERS & Caroline TESTER.

That marriage was in the Hailsham Registration District - not necessarily in Hailsham parish!

Here's a listing of the parishes in Hailsham Registration District:

Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

there is a tree on A******y -don't know how well sourced it is

It gives the marriage of Harry Walters and Mary Colbran as 30 mar 1882 Hailsham Sussex

no church given

if the marriage wa not in a church and was registrar attended then the only way to find details is to purchase the marriage cert

the tree has harry Waters as death 1889

Thanks Suz, KGarrad & Noosie,

Unfortunately I have no idea of which Parish within the registration district to look for the marriage and it may be a safer option to keep the registration information given I'm not flush with cash to purchase the certificate;D

Have you looked on http://theweald.org  has lots of free information put together by locals interested in Sussex family history.

Had a quick look and couldn't see anything, but if you have roots down there its very useful.
Peckham (Lambeth & Lewes), Edgeler, Burton - (Newton upon Ouse), Irving (Annan), Hemmett, Rutherford, Markham, Burrows (Notts), Smedley (Notts), Hart (Essex & Lambeth), Cox (Essex).

Hello deledge,

It seems my ancestors from my paternal great grandmother were mostly from Sussex.

I had forgotten about the Weald and you are right in that there is a lot of useful information located in that site so thanks for reminding me.
