Hester Long approx 1800 From Grear Badminton
« on: Thursday 03 August 17 08:13 BST (UK) »
Hi i have traced back my family to
William Watts  and Hester long 1800 approx marriage 19 June 1821 Gt Badminton

i had been thinking  that Hester was the daughter of Richard long and Hester Hill  christened 17 Oct 1802

others seem to have her married to John Kench 1838 in Chipping Norton

looking again there is a Hester Long Christened 1800  Parents  William Long and Ann walker

i was wondering if there was any information on the marriage entry to help find out which Hester long is the right one
thank you
Andrea

Looking at the Parish Entry on Ancestry

The marriage of Hesther LONG and William WATTS at Great Badminton - 19 June 1821:

By banns : both sign their name:

Witnesses: Joseph LONG and  (Beyla? - assume Kezia LONG) - Parish Register

There are two different entries for this marriage:

The other Bishop's  Transcripts
and the witnesses on this were Joseph LONG and Kezia LONG

Looking at marriage at Great Badminton : Joseph LONG - was the Clerk

Joseph LONG of Badminton married Esther ALLIN by banns 1 July 1822 - Chipping Sodbury

and

Kezia LONG had a Son, Thomas Beddow LONG christened at Great Badminton - 16 January 1816

? Need to check whether Kezia married Charles WOODMAN - as I can see children of this couple at Great Badminton on the CD  **

hi thank you

Joseph  long1798 and keziah long  1796 could be brother and sister of Hester Long parents
richard and hester hill
the death in 1847 seems to fit with being born 1802 not 1800
so prehaps i was right in the first place

i have also found another death for hester watts 1849
wonder if this is wife of john watts who married hester chappel

i did not realise hester was such a popular name.

the other marriage in chipping norton  seems to have seems to have witnesses richard Hills  and ann Hills
