Folks,
William Gunton (widower) marries Mary Dodson (spinster) in 1826 in Yaxley,both OTP,witnesses Matthew Gunton,Susanna Sharman and George Sharman.Baptism of their four children in Yaxley has William's occupation as miller,last child Maria b 1834 entry as child of William and Mary of Sutton,Isle of Ely.
William's death in Peterborough in 1838 shows age at 38. He is not buried in Yaxley.Mary and her children move to Peterborough by 1841 where she is now a green grocer.
I had found a William marrying in 1824 in Chatteris but is still around in 1851.
Using archersoftware i have checked for baptism or marriage in both Sutton or Ely with negative result.
Any thoughts or suggestions welcomed.

Whilst this may be the one you found in Chatteris, Cambs FHS Baptism Index at https://www.cfhs.org.uk/searchsd.cfm has a William Gunton aged 2 baptised in Chatteris in 1802, son of Thomas and Elizabeth

A Matthew Gunton son of Matthew and Mary was baptised in Manea in 1803

The William bedfordshire boy mentioned had a Sister SUSANNA who was Baptised same day.

She appears to have married Joseph BIRT 24 Oct 1824 Chatteris.

1851 the Family are inn Huntingdonshire under BURT, Susan Burt born c 1799 Chatteris.

EBENEZER Gunton has 2 entries on F/S;
Birth 14 Oct 1824 and christening 26 Jan 1824

Precis;William marries Sarah in Chatteris then moves to Yaxley,Sarah dies and William marries Mary Dodson,deaths of all are recorded.
There may be three Williams,one marries Jane ,second marries Mary Bodger,third marries Mary Hodson (our girl, should read Dodson) so there is no way of knowing where he came from.
