How have you got on with George Love?

Possible family for him headed up by a David Love and Janet Whyte who had a George Love c. 1777. His brother Francis and wife Margaret Blair were having children in Airth, Stirlingshire in the late 1790s at least. This is where the marriage for George Blair and Mary Burt took place in 1803. The names of David and Francis were early used names for George and Mary weren't they?

From A/try family trees, one tree states that on David Love and Janet Whyte's marriage (10 Nov 1769 Clackmannan from Scotlands People), he is showing as a coal heaver at Westfields and Kennet, Clackmannashire. Would fit well with George's occupation. So, a possibility that George's family were also miners...as is often the case.

Thanks very much Monica- I’ve got only as far back as George Love Born 1767 & Married to Agnes Bell. That’s where it stopped!

You have given me a wealth of information to peruse- I’m so glad I posted. I know the name Frances/ Francis does go down through the families - so on the right track.

Monica- I think it’s the same George Love- Although I had him circa 1767.

George first son was David obviously named after paternal grandfather. A second son called Francis-  so I think David Love is George’s father

Hi,
Just to add in reference to the passing  of Mary Burt in 1861 in the surrounding walls of the Poor-House wasn't much fun and the Doctors weren't in their ascendency in the dizzy heights of medicine;  where their death certificates read....Mary Burt died from Bed Sores and Gradual Decay..
I'm 73 but thank god I have no bed sores...Yet!!
