parish record search
« on: Monday 04 September 17 23:36 BST (UK) »
It has been recommended that I begin here in Lincolnshire about my dead end in Notts. I am seeking up anything/everything on the Jackson family before about 1800.   The first evidence of this family is in Nottinghamshire, Lenton, Bestwood Parish are William and Mary Jackson, origins unknown. They were the parents had William baptized at St. Firmin Church, Thurlby. Son William spent his life in agricultural labor, tethered to Lenton for half a century. Married to  Sarah Hall, the couple raised eleven children, all baptized at Arnold St. Mary in Lenton (Rtc: parish records).

William Jackson   b. May 29, 1807     Lenton, Bestwood Park Parish, Notts
                         d. Aug 21, 1859                                        (same)
w. Sarah Hall      b. 1806           Bulwell, Notts
                         m. May 16, 1826
                         d.

FreeREG is a place to look at https://www.freereg.org.uk/

41 baptisms, 15 marriages, 41 burials at Thurlby.
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Many thanks for the idea and link. I think I have a line for a couple of generations back into the 1700s from 1807 by your BMD Thurlby. As opposed to the days when I paged thru the book and found BD names, how do I find siblings if I don't know their first names?

FreeREG ... when you get to the list of 41 JACKSON baptisms, click on "Row 1" etc in the last column and that will take you to the parents' names.
