The one certificate you really need is that of their marriage in 1948 - from this you'll get his age, plus the name of his father.

The problem with a death certificate is that it is totally reliant on the person who registers the death. If that is a family member the details may be correct but even then dates, names etc may not be right. If the death is registered by someone who didn’t know the person very well, there may not be many details at all.

The GRO are issuing death certificates on line at the moment for £6 each rather than the usual £9.50. The best thing is to get the certificate and go from there.

Yes I think so gloom thank you

The Irish and English ones need to be ordered from different places
The Irish one's I've already explained.
You don't need a certified one, a research/photocopy will have all the same information and is much cheaper but it must be ordered by post or fax.
To order it you will need, vol, district, and year which is here https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FYG4-2NY
normally there is a page number as well but it is missing but this shouldn't cause a problem, although it may be worth making a note of than fact on the form.
and the form is on this link
https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/civil-records/help/i-want-to-get-a-copy-of-a-certificate-what-do-i-do
Fingers crossed it's the correct marriage.
I sent you the O'Neill birth by PM, I'll do the same with the Curry one.

I don't know about ordering English certs.

Groom already gave you the link to the GRO site for ordering certificates - you just have to register.   Don't know what English certificates you want to order but if one is the death certificate of Tacy that I'd previously mentioned the details you'll need are:

Tacy Sara O'Neill - age at death 62
Year of death - 1976
You'll be asked if GRO Index Reference known - 'Yes'
Quarter - September
District name - Salford
Volume no. - 39
Page no. - 0924

Glad that Sinann gave you details for ordering the Irish certificate as I knew nothing about ordering certificates in Ireland.

One piece of advice - when you order the specific certificates (or indeed any other certificates) always enter the name details exactly as spelt in the indexes i.e. marriage of Tacy in Ireland gives her name as Tacey Sarah Rocliffe  and her death in England is as Tacy Sara O'Neill.

Let us know when you eventually receive the certificates and what information they contain and we'll endeavour to help you further.

Good luck.

Tacy and Samuel got married in Dublin
Your mother was born there
The other children you spoke of were probably born in Salford
Tacy died in Salford
