The 1916/17 Police Gazettes that are online on BNA and FindMyPast (the same dataset) do not appear to include Supplement A which was published fortnightly. The Supplement A pages  are included for 1918 which is Vol V so presumably Vol III would be 1916. Portrait number number 378 would probably have been included circa October 1916, going by the numbering of the 1918 portraits.

Would that be this?

Hello,

Thank you very much for taking the trouble to find this for me, massively appreciated as I thought I would be playing a long waiting game until it became available online.

Unfortunately, it is not so easy to identify which one is Christopher Stabler, there were two main reasons I was  looking for a picture of Christopher- one being we don't have one of him and the other being we have a collection of family photos relating to the Stablers with a number of unidentified pictures and I was hoping to maybe match him to one of them but no joy there. As it is, he would be 40 in 1916 so I guess it could be narrowed down to the gentleman in the top right and the two in the middle. Looking at pictures we have of his brothers and cousins, I suspect it is the middle right fellow in the hat. Will have to look at this further...

I would love the extra information if you don't mind passing it on. I will PM you in a moment.

Again, many thanks for taking the trouble to help me like this- even though I'm not sure 100% which one it is, it is great to know that one of them is him!
