I have come across a local website which has the Rockcliffe School, Whitley Bay log books free to view on-line.  If you have ancestors who were teachers or pupils at this school this will likely be of interest:

When you get to the site just click on the 'Log Books' link. 

These start at 1906.
 

The website also has lots of school photos from the past and people are asked to contact if they recognise anyone.

In a recent railways programme with Chris Tarrant he interviewed a Canadian farmer who says his family came from Rockcliffe Yorkshire 126 years ago.

The Rockcliffe school is a long way off Yorkshire.  The school was in Whitley Bay,  Northumberland now known as Tyne and Wear.

Whitley Bay is a coastal area.

School logs such as those on this site can be fascinating reads.   :)
