John Henry Pettican was born on 10 November 1882 in Copford, Essex.
On the 1911 census he is living at Clarence Barracks, Portsmouth. Later that year he married Alice Bedford.
John Henry died of wounds at 2 Can. CCS and is buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium.
